Mountain Scenery that touches the soul:
Mt. Baker, Washington

A mountain landscape touches the soul. And the 140-mile length of Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest isn’t just any mountain landscape. This part of the Cascades runs from the Canadian border to Mt. Ranier National Park, and spectacular just isn’t spectacular enough a word to describe it. Summer’s the time to go, as we did last year when on a book tour of the Northwest. We went there to rest, to recreate, to rejoice. Our eyes were humbled. Our hearts were delighted. Our souls were lifted and filled. Our feet, once we emerged from the car and found some great trails, were happy.
Just head up I-5 towards Bellingham in Washington state, turn east at Route 542, and keep driving past the town of Glacier up to a heaven on earth.
